I am very excited to share this easy breakfast sausage recipe with you! It may not look like much, but it is the real deal! This post includes my recipes for three different fish taco components. Fried Fish, Cabbage Slaw, and Cilantro Lime Crema. Go ahead and try the individual recipes on their own. The cilantro lime crema is particularly delicious on top of sweet potatoes, soups, or just about anything. There's just something comforting about a creamy chicken dish. Warm and soothing, this recipe is hearty without being heavy. You have the option of using either white wine or bone broth in the creamy, coconut milk based sauce. Both ways are delicious! I find the finished product doesn't taste like coconut (good news for the coconut haters). In fact the primary flavour of the dish comes from the use of leeks. Soups are my favourite way to get a variety of veggies and bone broth into my diet. I especially love a warm bowl of soup for breakfast in the winter. Or any meal, really. Soup is a staple for me on the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol. If you do it right, soup can be extremely economical and packed with nutrition. Like this delicious Hearty Borscht.
I might be a bit of a Tex-Mex snob...I'm that person who thinks it's wrong to just grab a packet of taco seasoning, throw it on some chicken & peppers and call it fajitas. LOL. I have always made my fajita seasoning from scratch. Fajita night was a fav! When I started making AIP friendly tortillas I needed to think up some yummy ideas for fillings. I realized with a few omissions and tweaks, I could eat my beloved fajitas again. Yay!
Who doesn't love chicken strips?! It has always been one of my favourite comfort foods. You know, the warm, greasy, easy, treat foods you reach for on a bad day. Pre AIP, days, that is. Don't worry, though. Following The Paleo Autoimmune Protocol doesn't mean we have to give up all our comfort foods! Like my beloved chicky nuggies. When you first decide to start AIP you feel quite martyr-ish:
"I will give up whatever I have to, my health comes first." *sniff* I know you know. Ha ha! If only I knew then that I could eat these beauties! |
